Overview

Under general direction the Senior Manager, Product Management is accountable for leading the product management office team in defining and implementing key deliverables of the Strategy Acceleration Program including product management standards, processes and templates/tools necessary for effective communication, strategic planning and management of our products.  This includes but is not limited to integrated business planning process, product operating model, product value statements, product adoption strategies, SWOT and competitive analysis among others.  This role is responsible for ensuring Product Strategy compliance with these processes and tools that support NASCO's continued maturity of our product management discipline through competitive analysis, product strategy input, defining and tracking product measures and metrics, supporting product strategists in the management of their roadmaps, facilitation of their product councils, supporting the Strategic Advisory Board, and tracking and communicating government actions that may influence NASCO's product strategies.  The Senior Manager, Product Management is also responsible for obtaining feedback on the processes and identifying and implementing improvements to our processes which helps to ensure our continued maturity.  This position communicates with VP, Corporate and Product Strategy regarding status of assigned projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Leads NASCO’s Integrated Business Planning process and reports outcomes
  • Develops, documents and roll-outs product management processes ensuring compliance by product strategists
  • Manages a team of resources and supports HR processes including merit consideration, recruiting, hiring, and selection activities. Responsible for collaborating on associate development plans, coaching associates, and identifying training requirements for direct reports, new hires, and departmental transfers. 
  • Owns and manages the product management maturity process and roadmap which impacts Product and other dept investments/budget
  • Owns the execution plan for the Strategy Acceleration program for the Product Strategy department
  • Develops, tracks and reports on all product management measures ensuring alignment of NASCO corporate measures
  • Supports the development and growth of the Strategic Advisory Board
  • Provides leadership and support of product related summits and tracks linkage between summit and Plan funding of associate capability build out

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:

 

  • Basic Knowledge of NASCO’s products
  • Deep knowledge of product lifecycle management with demonstrated success in  applying product management principles
  • Proficient in Visio and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the implementation and acceptance of change within an organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build productive relationships with customers and coworkers in order to achieve results.
  • Has a proven track record of focusing others on the critical priorities, measuring progress, and ensuring accountability against those metrics
  • Minimum of 8 years of functional/applied experience in similar role
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in manager or team lead type roles
  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing change and automating organizational workflows
  • Minimum of 3 years of strategic planning experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of healthcare IT experience

Required Training and Education:

  •  Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
