  • Overview

    Under general direction the Scheduler is responsible for scheduling various technical support personnel to the appropriate Customer Service Requests (CSR) or Project(s) based on required skills, experience as defined by System Development Managers (SDM), and available time as shown in scheduler planners. The Scheduler is responsible for allocating the right resources quickly and correctly the first time, in order to allocate work effectively for the NDT. Timeliness and accuracy are critical as the Scheduler sets the dates required to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA).  Delays may lead to penalty bearing SLA misses as well as impacts to the technical team’s utilization goals and/or non-productive time causing bench.    Communicates with project coordinator and management on status of work. Communicates with SDMs, Technical Managers, and other resources as needed in order to accomplish work.


    Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Schedules resources timely and accurately using MS project and complex standard operating procedures in order to allocate all CSR work across technical resources within a 24-hour turnaround timeframe.
    • Works with SDM and TM to solve issues or challenges when resources are over-allocated and provides insight, updates, and what-if scenarios to best schedule resources to CSR workload.
    • Reviews, assesses, and analyzes skill sets and system area knowledge of technical resources from the Planner in order to select the best-fit team member to the CSR.
    • Provides data and information such as date improvements, resource over-allocation, bench trends, and potential needs for cross training in areas that are consistently constrained to the SDM of the system area in order to continually improve NDT resource utilization.   
    • Attends regular system area meetings to better understand the environment, culture, constraints, and team members in order to more effectively allocate work across the Planner.
    • Collaborates with other Schedulers to ensure high quality work standards and continual process improvement through problem-solving and teamwork.
    • Provides input from the MS Project Planner to facilitate report generation for resource allocation, forecasting, and master allocation which drives management decision making about finances and operations.
    • Reviews multiple sources such as pertinent PRSS input, Outlook requests as submitted by the Technical Managers, and review of the daily SLA report for pending items in order to determine daily priorities and manage workload.
    • Maintains scheduling database within MS project to ensure accuracy and currency of data to prevent rework or missing SLAs.
    • Maintains a historical version of the primary MS project planner for audit purposes.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.

    • 1-3 years of professional work experience, using Microsoft Office Products to complete work

    Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:


    • Experience scheduling for Software Development Lifecycle projects
    • Healthcare background
    • Experienced in using MS Project 2010 or higher

    Required Training and Education:

    1. Associates Degree or the equivalent experience

    Role/Department Specific Details

    Ability to think through a given situation and propose alternate solutions to the Delivery Manager in order to assign work to effectively with limited impact to the Delivery Manages time.

    Excellent oral and written communication is required as this team member will interface with Leaders, Project Managers, Executives and technical resources to gather required information.
